Baseball Turns In 3.2 Spring Semester GPA

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Twenty-one East Carolina baseball players have been named to the Spring 2016 ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll, while turning in a 3.20 semester grade point average head coach Cliff Godwin announced Saturday.
Since first tracking team GPA's in the Fall of 2003, the baseball team has reached the 2.90 mark 10 times, but never a 3.0 until the Fall of 2015, when they registered a 3.05 GPA. After turning in a program-best 3.42 GPA last fall, the Pirates followed with a 3.20 GPA, which was the highest male team semester GPA at ECU.
Of its 32 players on the active roster, 11 landed on the Dean's List (3.5 or higher) and 10 were Honor Roll members (3.0 or higher). Junior Ryan Littlefield tallied the highest semester GPA (3.94) and has the highest cumulative GPA (3.95).
For the 2015-16 academic year, the Pirates recorded a 3.31 cumulative GPA, which also ranked as the highest male team cumulative GPA. Last year (2014-15), the first under Godwin, the baseball team registered a 2.97 GPA.
