
Pirates Post Five Wins To Open Home Schedule

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The ECU women's swimming and diving swept a quad meet at Minges Natatorium Saturday, while the men's team posted two victories in a tri-meet as the Pirates defeated Gardner-Webb and William and Mary on both sides with the ladies defeating Campbell in a women's only dual meet.

•   Jabs earned his first victories as the Pirates' head coach.
•   Senior Julie Lajoie set the Minges Natatorium record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.09, which was more than nine seconds faster than the second-place finisher. She also touched first in the 200 fly (2:01.86) and 200 IM (2:05.04).
•   Senior John Myhre won the men's 200 freestyle by 0.46 with a time of 1:42.85.
•   Jacek Arentewicz (56.18) and Josh Parmenter (57.35) finished one and two in the men's 100 breaststroke. The duo flip-flopped in the 200 breaststroke with Parmenter (2:05.41) touching first and Arentewicz (2:05.46) placing second.
•   Catherine Johnson captured first-place in the 50 (23.77) and 100 freestyle (52.25).
•   Other first-place finishers for the ECU women's team: Bridie Burke (200 freestyle), Logan Graumann (100 backstroke), Vendela Norrman (200 breaststroke) and Kaitlyn Hauser (500 freestyle).
•   First-place finishers on the men's side also included Boleck De Pawlikowski (200 backstroke) and Gustavo Santos (49.46).
•   Seniors Alicia Roueche and Matt Mullen each won the 3-meter diving event with Jenni Giacalone and Taylor Berkey winning the 1-meter competitions.
•   ECU claimed first-place in the men's 200 medley and men's 400 freestyle relay.
