RALEIGH, N.C. — ECU senior Tim Conover carded a 5-under-par 211 to lead the Pirates into a fifth-place tie at the 2017 Wolfpack Intercollegiate. Conover fired a final round of 4-under-par 68 to move up 12 positions in the final standings, while ECU shot 1-over-par as a team for a final three round total of 7-over-par 871.

He played a great round today and overall had a very good tournament. We've had three tournaments this fall and a different player has led us each time, which shows that we can win a tournament when everyone plays well at the same time. News & Notes

NC State won the team title by two strokes over North Carolina. The Wolfpack finished at 16-under-par, while the Tar Heels carded a 14-under-par to claim runner-up honors.
Stephen Franken of NC State captured medalist honors by eight strokes over Campbell's Pontus Nyholm. Franken shot 15-under-par with rounds of 66, 65 and 70.
Tim Conover shot under par in two of the three rounds, matching his season-low round of 68 during the final 18. He posted his first top-5 finish of the season and fifth of his career.
Patrick Stephenson shot par or better in two of three rounds for the second consecutive tournament. Stephenson leads the team with four rounds of par or better this season.
Clay Brown and stephen Carroll competed in their first tournaments of the year.
