Aggies' Offense Gets Past The Pirates

RESULT
North Carolina A&T (5-1) posted its first-ever victory over ECU (2-4) on Sunday, 87-81, snapping the Pirates' five-game winning streak in the series.

TURNING POINT
Aaren Edmead's 3-pointer from the top of the key with 4:07 to play gave North Carolina A&T a 76-71 lead. The Aggies outscored the Pirates 7-2 over a two minute stretch late in the game to break a 69-all tie. ECU pulled within three on two made free throws by Kentrell Barkley with 3:19 remaining, but never got closer.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Barkley posted his first double-double of the season, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He also distributed a team-high five assists. Barkley finished 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-8 at the free throw line while playing all 40 minutes. It was his 14th career double-double.

Edmead scored a career-high 25 points on 7-of-12 shooting and 2-of-4 from outside the arc. He also made 9-of-10 free throw attempts. He came off the bench to score 23 points after halftime and dropped a team-best six dimes, playing 27 minutes.

Isaac Fleming tied his career-high with 23 points, scoring 17 second half points … Shawn Williams came off the bench to score a career-high 19 points, including 14 in the first half … Williams made 4-of-4 3-point attempts in the first half … B.J. Tyson added 11 points and became the ninth player in school history to score 1,200 career points and moved into fifth-place on The American's all-time scoring list with 1,209 points ... Jabari Craig snatched nine rebounds and blocked three shots.
