Pirates Begin Spring Slate At Sea Best Invitational

The East Carolina men's golf team will open its spring season Monday, Feb. 6, through Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Ninth-Annual Sea Best Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The Pirates concluded their five-tournament fall season in mid-October with a fourth-place finish at the Phoenix Invitational, after posting a first-place finish at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and a third-place showing at the Janney Invitational.

Arkansas, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Florida, Florida State, Jacksonville, Liberty, Lipscomb, North Carolina, North Florida, SMU, Tennessee, USC Upstate and Winthrop will join ECU in the 15-team field.

The Pirates will field a five-man roster of Jackson Spires, Jack Sides, Blake Taylor, Tim Conover and Patrick Stephenson.

The 54-hole tournament begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Monday followed by 36 holes of competition. Tuesday's final round will also begin at 8 a.m.
