GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men's golf team is headed to Ardmore, Okla., for the second straight season to compete in The Maxwell April 14-15 at the Oak Tree Country Club East Course. This will be the team's final regular-season tournament before the American Athletic Conference Championship.
Hosted by the University of Oklahoma, the two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-70, 7,102-yard Oak Tree Country Club course, featuring two rounds of play on Friday and a final round Saturday.
Sooner Sports TV will televise The Maxwell live on Friday from 2:30-7:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports Pacific. Streaming will be available on the Fox Sports GO app through cable subscription authentication for viewers that have access to FCS Pacific. Sooner Sports TV will deploy 15 cameras and utilize state-of-the-art cell bonding transmissions provided by LiveU to transmit signals back to the SoonerVision studios in Norman, Okla.
The 14-team tournament field includes four top-25 programs: No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 Baylor, No. 13 Oklahoma and No. 25 Colorado. Augusta, ECU, Liberty, Memphis, New Mexico, North Texas, SMU, UCLA, UTSA and Wichita State comprise the rest of the field.
The Pirates' lineup features Tim Conover, Jackson Spires, Patrick Stephenson, Blake Taylor and Logan Shuping. ECU finished ninth at the event a year ago with Spires posting the team's low score of 3-over-par in the rain-shortened event.
