
Pettersson Moves Into Tie For 30th At Athens Regional

ATHENS, Ga. – East Carolina junior Lisa Pettersson shot a three-under par 69 during second round action in the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Athens Regional at the University of Georgia Golf Course (par-72, 6,344-yards) on Tuesday.
The Taby, Sweden native posted, who started on the 10th hole, registered birdies on holes 10 and 11 before dropping a stroke on No. 12 with a bogey. Pettersson then fired off six consecutive pars to finish the back nine with a score of 35 (1-under). On the front nine, she birded two of the first seven holes (No. 3 and No. 4), bogeyed No. 8 and closed out the round with her fifth birdie of the day on the ninth hole for a 2-under 36. Pettersson moved up 30 spots into a tie for 30th with a two-day total of 148 (4-over).
Third-ranked Alabama (573/3-under) leads the team portion holding a five-stroke lead over No. 19 Baylor (578/2-over). Michigan State (581/5-over) dropped from first to third, while No. 39 Clemson (586/10-over) moved up seven spots to fourth. Rounding out the top five are No. 11 Northwestern and No. 31 Tennessee who are tied for fifth at 588 (12-over).
Jennifer Kupcho (Wake Forest) is the overall leader for the second day in a row after posting a 2-under round of 70 and is one shot ahead of Lauren Stephenson (Alabama). Sitting in a three-way tie for third are Alice Hewson (Clemson), Amy lee (Baylor) and Laura Fuenfstueck (College of Charleston) at 141 (3-under).
Final round action will begin at 7:30 a.m. (ET) with Pettersson once again teeing off from the 10th hole at 8:15 a.m.
