ECU Athletics Launches New Fan Engagement Council
August 23, 2017 | General
GREENVILLE, N.C. – ECU Director of Athletics Jeff Compher announced today the creation of a regularly-scheduled opportunity to hear from alumni, fans and students.
The Fan Engagement Council is being established by ECU Athletics to give loyal fans of Pirate Nation the opportunity to share their opinions and perspectives regarding their experience with the athletics department, as well as gain knowledge regarding athletic department decisions and policies.
The 25-person Council will be representative of the different demographics and perspectives within Pirate Nation and will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the fan experience when it comes to topics such as game day experience, marketing and communications, facilities, ticket sales, customer service and more.
"The Fan Engagement Council is a way for our athletics department to hear directly from various representatives of our fan base about the things they care about the most regarding the game day experience for our events," Compher said. "I look at this as a year-long focus group and I am excited to learn first-hand about their interactions with ECU Athletics -Â from our website, to our ticket buying process, to parking, concessions, and even the restrooms. Everything will be on the table for discussion." Â
The selected Council members will serve one-year terms, with the inaugural term running from October 2017 through June 2018, and will meet four times within that span of time with Compher and other athletics department staff. This will give ample opportunity for a diverse and ever-changing group of voices to share their thoughts as well as discuss agenda topics established prior to each meeting.
The application process begins immediately, with a deadline of Friday, September 9. The selection and announcement of the first council will be at the end of September, with the first meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 11. To apply, please click on link.
