Pirates Earn Road Win At USF

ECU rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to earn its first road win of the season Wednesday night at USF, 67-65.

B.J. Tyson knocked down the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:04 to play to give ECU (7-7, 1-2) a 65-63 lead. After the Bulls (7-9, 0-3) came up empty on their ensuing possession, the Pirates extended their lead on a pair of free throws by Kentrell Barkley after Demitri Spasojevic kept the possession alive with an offensive rebound.

Barkley scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, sinking 2-of-5 free throw attempts … It was the first time he scored double figures since Dec. 18 against Charlotte … Barkley surpassed the 900-point plateau for his career.

After being held scoreless in the first half, Isaac Fleming scored 12 points after halftime … Fleming also distributed six assists to bring his season total to 66, matching his career-best from his freshman year at Hawaii … Tyson scored 14 points, made 2-of-6 3-pointers and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line … Jabari Craig missed matching his career-high for scoring by one point, finishing with 13 and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
