GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU softball team will play 26 games at home as part of its 2019 schedule released in its entirety by school officials Wednesday.

The Pirates begin the campaign Feb. 8-10 with participation in the Upstate Classic where they will face Youngstown State, Miami (Ohio), Towson and host USC Upstate.

A trio of home tournaments is next as the Purple and Gold will play 15-straight games at the ECU Softball Stadium. The dates and opponents are listed below:

- Pirate Clash (Feb. 15-17) – Wagner, Cleveland State, Saint Francis (Pa.)
- Pirate Invitational (Feb. 22-24) – Seton Hall, Boston College, JMU
- Purple-Gold Invitational (March 1-3) – Columbia, Winthrop, Massachusetts

After a non-conference home game against in-state opponent Campbell March 6, the Pirates will head south for the FAU/FIU Parents' Weekend Tournament where they will face off against Long Island, FAU, Florida A&M, FIU and Notre Dame.

ECU travels to Longwood March 13 for a single non-conference contest before making the trek to George Mason University for the Cherry Blossom Classic March 15-17. The Pirates are slated to battle Sacred Heart, Cornell and the host Patriots in Fairfax, Va.

American Athletic Conference play begins at Memphis March 22-24. ECU will host UCF, Tulsa and Connecticut in league action while traveling to Memphis, USF, Wichita State and Houston. The Pirates will also take on regional non-conference foes North Carolina (March 27/Greenville, N.C.), NC State (April 10/Raleigh, N.C.) and Duke (April 24/Durham, N.C.) during the regular season.

The American Athletic Conference Softball Championship is scheduled for May 9-11 at the Cougar Softball Stadium in Houston. The winner of the event receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Softball Championship.
