ECU Ranked No. 21 In National Dual Meet Men's Rankings

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The ECU men's swimming and diving team is ranked among the nation's top 25 teams in this week's National Dual Meet Rankings by CollegeSwimming.com, coming in at No. 21. The Pirates are one of two American Athletic Conference teams in the men's rankings, joining No. 19 Cincinnati.
ECU is one of five American conference teams in the women's top 40 rankings at No. 37, joining No. 19 Tulane, No. 20 Cincinnati, No. 25 Houston and No. 34 Connecticut.
Freshman Marek Osina (1:48.16) posted the fastest time in The American over the weekend in 200 back, as did sophomore Jacek Arentewicz (2:01.78) in the 200 breaststroke and junior Gustavo Santos (49.23) in the 100 butterfly.
On the women's side, Catherine Johnson (24.01) posted the fastest time in the conference in the 50 free with junior Victoria Gillet (2:04.55) recording the best time in the 200 butterfly.
ECU returns to competition Saturday, Oct. 13, against William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
