December 18, 2018 | General
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Caroline Bevillard has been named Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration and Senior Woman Administrator at East Carolina University, according to an announcement by Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert Tuesday.
Â
Bevillard spent the last two years as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration at the University of Southern Mississippi. As a member of the department's leadership team, Bevillard had direct oversight of the softball, indoor and beach volleyball programs while working closely with the athletic director on the day-to-day operations of the department.
Â
"Caroline will serve ECU well in this vitally important position," Gilbert said. "As a former student-athlete, she brings a valuable and unique perspective to our department and understands the needs of our coaches and student-athletes as we strive for academic and athletic excellence. It is clear from those that have worked alongside Caroline that she cares deeply about the student-athlete experience and has a true passion for intercollegiate athletics."
Â
As a member of the development staff, Bevillard and the department generated support for USM athletics while the Eagle Club registered its second-highest membership total in organization history. Bevillard managed the "I'M IN" campaign, which saw 100 percent participation in the Eagle Club from athletic staff members. She worked closely with constituents that resulted in the groundbreaking of a new volleyball center and the construction of beach volleyball courts, among other initiatives.
Â
"I am thrilled to be joining Pirate Nation and am truly grateful to Jon Gilbert for this opportunity," Bevillard said. "To be able to serve the student-athletes and coaches at an institution like East Carolina University, with its rich history and brand, is very humbling. I look forward to immersing myself in the department and the community."
Â
Bevillard served in a variety of development and fundraising roles at the University of Tennessee from 2012-2017. A focus for Bevillard during her time in Knoxville was on major gift fundraising, endowments and premium seating sales for the department's three-year, $150 million, Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence that directly benefited the student-athlete experience.
Â
A native of Athens, Georgia, Bevillard served as the Assistant Director of Development at her alma mater, Georgia Southern University, from 2011-12. While attending Georgia Southern, Bevillard was a four-year letterman and team captain on the swimming team and earned Academic All-America honors.
Â
A 2011 summa cum laude Georgia Southern graduate with a degree in sport management, Bevillard was awarded Georgia Southern's first NCAA postgraduate scholarship and earned a master's in higher education administration from GSU in 2013.
