GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's basketball team (14-11, 6-6) will travel to the Lone Star state Saturday to face off with Houston (19-7, 8-4) at 3 p.m. (EST). The two teams met on Jan. 20 when the Pirates defeated the Cougars 80-78 in overtime in Minges Coliseum.

ECU has won five of their last seven contests. The purple and gold are second in the American Athletic Conference in steals per game, averaging 11.2. The Pirates lead the conference in offensive rebounding with 396 on the season, an average of 15.8 per game

Freshman Ariyana Williams is averaging an ECU team-best 9.7 points per game. Senior Thais Oliveira is second on the team in scoring with 8.8 points per contest. In conference play, freshman Lashonda Monk is averaging a team-high of 8.6 points. Junior Alex Frazier is averaging 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in AAC play.

Houston's recent four-game winning streak came to a halt with an 83-77 loss at Tulsa in the Cougars last outing on Feb. 10. Sophomore Jasmyne Harris is the AAC's second-best scorer, averaging 20.3 points per game. Fellow sophomore Angela Harris is second on the team in scoring with 13.8 per game. Serithia Hawkins and Dorian Branch are each averaging double-figures with 12.2 and 10.5 points per game, respectively.

The all-time series dates back to 2002 and is led by the Cougars, 11-8. Macy holds a 6-3 all-time record against Houston. In the last meeting on Jan. 20, ECU downed Houston in overtime, 80-78, in Minges Coliseum. The Pirates recorded their second-best scoring output on the season with 80 points, while placed three players into double-digits with Necole Hope pacing the team with 15. Serithia Hawkins notched a game-high 22 points for the Cougars.
