ECU wraps up the home portion of the 2017-18 schedule on Thursday night against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 7 p.m. on Senior Night inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
The trio of seniors in the Pirate program will be recognized in ceremonies prior to tipoff. That threesome includes Jabari Craig, Aaron Jackson and B.J. Tyson. The Senior Night festivities are scheduled to begin at approximately 6:47 p.m.
ECU defeated UConn on Senior Night last year behind senior Caleb White's career-high 28 points.
Tyson will end his career ranked in the top-5 all-time at ECU in scoring and the top-10 in games played, minutes played, field goals made, free throws made, assists and steals. He is one of only two people in ECU's Division I era to finish his career with over 1,500 points and 400 rebounds.
"He came in here and did things the right way, both on the floor and off the floor," ECU Interim Head Coach Michael Perry said. "He's done well in the classroom, he's close to being the all-time leading scorer in conference play, he's fourth on our all-time list, but it pales in comparison to him off the floor.
"He's been a great ambassador and he's one of the most popular athletes that I've been around since I've been [at ECU]. Not just on campus or in the athletic department, but throughout the community as a whole. That's where he's really made his mark."
Tyson is averaging a career-best 15.1 points per game (ppg) this season and has scored 20 or more in three of the last four games. He's 50 points shy of passing his former teammate White for fourth on the all-time scoring list.
Earlier this season he posted his lone career double-double against Tulsa with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane has won 17 of the 20 meetings in the series, but ECU did win at home last year.
Tyson will need the help of his backcourt mates Isaac Fleming and Shawn Williams if he's to walk off the Williams Arena floor victorious.
Fleming has scored double figures in a career-long nine games, averaging 14.4 ppg during that stretch and shooting 46.0 percent (47-of-102) from the field and 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from outside the 3-point arc.
Â
Williams had scored double digits in 10 of the last 11 games, averaging 18.1 points per game. He's shooting over 44 percent (.447) outside the 3-point arc during that stretch, knocking down 42-of-94 3-point attempts and led ECU in scoring in seven of the last 11 games.
Â
Craig is expected to see action for the first time since Jan. 20, missing the last eight games with a foot injury.
Â
Tulsa is in position to receive a first round bye in the American Athletic Conference tournament. The Golden Hurricane is 10-6 in league play after winning six in a row before having its streak stopped by Cincinnati on Sunday, but leads Memphis by a game for fourth-place.
Junior Etou leads the team at 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game (rpg) and those marks rank sixth and third in The American, respectively. His 8.6 rpg during conference play lead the league.
Â
In three career games against ECU, Etou is averaging 24.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
