
ECU To Open Spring Schedule at TPC Sawgrass

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The ECU men's golf team opens its spring schedule this week as the Pirates head to TPC Sawgrass for the Sea Best Invitational on the Dye's Valley course. The 15-team field features five top-25 teams and nine top-50 teams in the latest Golfstat national rankings.
ECU enters the spring ranked 79th nationally after four fall events. The Pirates tied for fifth-place at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate for its top finish of the fall season.
Three of ECU's five golfers in its Sea Best Invitational lineup enter the spring with stroke averages under 74 led by sophomores Patrick Stephenson (72.58) and Blake Taylor (73.25). Stephenson is coming off a victory at the Country Cub of North Carolina Amateur in December with 36-hole score of 4-under-par.

ECU Head Coach Andrew Sapp will also send seniors Tim Conover (73.42) and Jackson Spires (74.75) along with sophomore Logan Shuping to challenge the highly ranked field.
