ECU Takes Another Win on the Road
March 18, 2018 | Men's Tennis
Richmond, Va. --- ECU's men's tennis team takes another win on the road against the University of Richmond in a tough 5-2 match.
After losing the doubles point, ECU went on to win four of the six singles matches, with Freddie McGeehan being the only one to win in a straight set from the No. 3 position.
Records
ECU (15-3), Richmond (6-8)
Coach's Quote:
"We were lucky to get through this one today. Richmond was a lot more mentally ready to go than we were and it showed when they took the doubles point. We need to get better at closing at the doubles when we have our opportunities. It's hard to win 4 of 6 singles matches against good teams. Overall, our guys did a very good job of finding a way to win. A couple of our guys did not have their best stuff tennis wise, but credit to them for hanging in there and figuring out that they don't have to be perfect to sometimes win." – ECU Head Coach Shawn Heinchon
