ECU Begins Spring Break At Palmetto Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The ECU men's golf team will play the first of two Spring Break tournaments starting Monday, March 5 at the 21st Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C.

The event will take place at the Palmetto Golf Club on a par-70, 6,617-yard course. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will begin with shotgun starts.
In addition to host USC Aiken and ECU, this year's field includes Akron, Army,, Augusta, Coastal Carolina, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Manhattan, Memphis, Presbyterian College, Temple, UAB, VCU, Virginia, William & Mary and Wofford.
ECU's lineup features sophomore Patrick Stephenson, sophomore Blake Taylor, senior Tim Conover, senior Jackson Spires and freshman Tim Bunten.
Stephenson leads the team with a 72.44 strokes per round average and has been the Pirates' low scorer in three of six tournaments played this season. Taylor (73.00) and Conover (73.11) rank two and three on the team in scoring average and each owns one top-10 finish this year.
The Pirates finished fifth at last year's tournament behind a fourth-place showing from Conover.
ECU will remain on the road during the school's spring break period to compete at the General Hackler Championship March 10-11 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
