CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 19 ECU (9-3) hits the road for a three-game series at in-state foe Charlotte (8-4) starting Friday, March 9 at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium. First pitch of the weekend is slated for 3 p.m. (ET). Due to potential inclement weather in the area on Sunday, the two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m. (ET).
MUSTACHE MARCH
• The entire team, including the coaching staff and support staff, will participate in Mustache March in order to raise awareness and money for the Jim "Catfish" Hunter chapter. Mustache March will create a fun and entertaining environment for Pirate fans throughout the month of March, which will also help towards ALS research. Please join our efforts of Striking Out ALS by donating to our event. All money raised throughout the season will go straight to the ALS Association, and more specifically the Jim "Catfish" Hunter chapter. During the 15th-Annual Keith LeClair Classic (Mar. 2-4) members of the local ALS Chapter will be on hand to receive donations. Also, please follow our status through various social media outlets (@ECUBaseball, and many more), as well as on the field. This year ECU will team up with the Memphis baseball program to help fight and strikeout ALS with a goal of raising $7,500. For more information about Mustache March, please click on this link.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS SERIES
• ECU holds a 26-6 all-time record in the series between to two state schools … The Pirates won the last two games of last years series in Greenville (10-7/10 inn. And 3-0), while the 49ers claimed the opener (2-0).
• Despite going 2-2 last week, the Pirates continued to be ranked in three polls this week dropping one spot in D1Baseball (No. 19), moving up two in NCBWA (No. 22) and entering the first USA Today/Coaches (No. 23) … ECU did drop completely out of Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball's weekly polls.
PIRATE QUICK HITS (prior to weekend)
• Trey Benton earned AAC Pitcher-of-the-Week honors (Feb. 26) after striking out a career-best 11 batters against UNC (Feb. 23) in six innings of work for his second win of the season ... In three starts he boasts a 2-1 record with a 2.65 ERA and has 22 Ks to 0 BBs in 17 innings.
• Chris Holba is a two-time AAC Honor Member ... In three starts, he is 3-0 with 24 strikeouts to just two walks ... Hasn't allowed a run in 18.2 consecutive innings, while combining on two shutouts.
• Alec Burleson notched his first career save against CofC tossing one inning of shutout relief ... The lefty has appeared in five games allowing one run (unearned) on five hits in 8.0 innings ... In the field, he has started 10 games posting at least one base knock in eight contests with 7 RBI and 7 runs scored.
• Spencer Brickhouse has collected at least one hit in 9 of 12 games ... He belted his team-leading third home run vs. UNC (Feb. 24) in Durham, a three-run shot ... He collected four hits and had four RBI in the three-game tilt against the Tar Heels ... Had 27-game on-base streak snapped vs. CofC (3/7) ... Has five career game-winning RBI (one in 2018).
• Connor Litton leads the team in hits (19), multi-hit games (6) and total bases (27) while sharing the lead in runs (11) and standing second in average (.432) ... Currently has an eight-game hit streak heading into Charlotte series ... Collected 6 hits in UNC series (two in each game).
• Brady Lloyd leads the team with a .440 (11-for-25) average ... Tied for first on the team with 11 runs ... At Campbell, he drove in a career-best two runs and registered his second career game-winning RBI with a single in the third inning ... Has four multi-hit games this season.
• Jake Agnos picked up first win of the season allowing two runs against CofC (3/7) ... He has started four games posting a 1-1 record with a 6.39 ERA in 12.2 innings.
• Seth Caddell (.200) and Jake Washer (.429) are splitting time behind the plate ... Caddell had a career night at Campbell collecting three hits and scoring a pair of runs ... He hit his first collegiate home run against SJU (solo) ... Washer is tied for the team lead in walks (7) and is third in average ... Tallied career-best three hits vs. Pepperdine and drove in a career-high 4 runs at UNC (Feb. 25).
• Dwanya Williams-Sutton is batting .273 on the season with four RBI and a team second-best eight runs ... Tied for team lead in stolen bases (3), while leading in HBP (3).
• ECU's starting pitching is sporting a 2.77 ERA through 12 games ... They have allowed 20 runs (17 earned) on 46 hits with 59 strikeouts to just 15 walks while holding opposing hitters to a .230 clip ... The bullpen has allowed 20 runs (17 earned) with 42 strikeouts and 19 walks in 52.2 innings for a 2.91 ERA ... The pen has allowed one inherited to score (15 of 42; 35.7 percent).

GODWIN AT A GLANCE
• Cliff Godwin, who was named the 16th head coach in school history on June 25, 2014, was a four-year letterwinner for the Pirates from 1998-2001 … He has been a part of nine NCAA Regional and two College World Series teams at the Division I level as an assistant coach and head coach …During his three years at the helm of the program, Godwin has guided ECU to a pair of NCAA Regional berths (2015-16), a Super Regional appearance (2016), an American Athletic Conference (2015) Tournament title and a 119-76-1 (.610) overall record … Three players have earned All-America honors, five were named to the Charlottesville All-Regional Team, six took home all-conference honors (five first-teamers), seven were selected as American Player-of-the-Week, while three have been drafted by Major League Baseball teams … Named 2015 AAC Coach-of-the-Year and was inducted into the George Whitfield Hall of Fame in January of 2016 … Recently he was named to the 2018 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team staff where he will serve as the third base and hitting coach … As a player, he helped former ECU skipper Keith LeClair's teams post a 169-76 four-year ledger, including 46-plus wins in each of his final three seasons (16-16 in '99, 46-18 in '00 and 47-13 in '01) … ECU won a pair of CAA Tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Regionals every season from 1999 to 2001 … The Pirates were the top seed in their regional all three years, including a No. 7 national seed in 2001 where they advanced to the Super Regional round before being eliminated by Tennessee.
