ECU Set To Close Regular Season At MacGregor Downs

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The ECU men's golf team will close out the regular season at the Stitch Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary this weekend.
The three-day 54-hole event begins Friday morning with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. The Pirates will be paired with Virginia Tech and Ohio.
The field features a trio of Top-40 teams led by No. 26 Wake Forest, No. 27 Duke and No. 36 NC State. Also included in the field are teams from Appalachian State, Campbell, College of Charleston, Maryland, Richmond and UAB.
The Pirates are coming off a first-place finish at the ECU Intercollegiate 12 days ago, finishing one stroke ahead of Georgetown.
Sophomore Patrick Stephenson, who tied for medalist honors at the ECU Intercollegiate, will play from the No. 1 position. He owns the lowest scoring average on the team at 72.70 strokes per round.
Senior Tim Conover, sophomore Blake Taylor, senior Jackson Spires and freshman Tim Bunten round out the Pirates' five-man roster. Sophomore Logan Shuping will compete as an individual.
