CARY, N.C. --- Sophomore Blake Taylor shot a career-best 9-under-par 207 (72-65-70) to lead ECU to a fourth-place tie at the Stitch Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs Sunday, closing out its regular season schedule.

The Pirates fired a season-low 17-under-par 847, ninth-lowest 54-hole score in school history, to finish tied with UAB and Campbell for fourth-place behind tournament champion Duke (-36), second-place Wake Forest (-30) and third-place NC State (-20).

NEWS & NOTES

Campbell's Amarin Kraivixen captured medalist honors at 13-under-par 203 (71-61-71) followed by Wake Forest's Eric Bae and Cameron Young in second-place along with Duke's Alex Smalley tied for second-place.
Taylor shot a career-low 65 in round two of the tournament Saturday. He shot par or better in all three rounds for the second time in his collegiate career.
All five members of the Pirates' tournament shot par or better in at least one round.
Sophomore Patrick Stephenson posted his ninth career round of under 70 with first score of 69.
Senior Jackson Spires matched his season-low round of 69 during Sunday's final round.
Freshman Tim Bunten also tied his best 18-hole score with a 70 in round three.

"This week everyone had at least round under par showing that when we put them all together we can do some great things. Blake had his career best collegiate round (65) and Jackson put together two under par scores. There were a lot of positives to take away from this week heading into the conference tournament.
