ECU Continues Season At Bank Of Tennessee Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's golf team continues its season this weekend, Oct. 11-13, at the 22nd Annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, which is being held at the par-72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at The Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn.
This year's 15-team field includes the host East Tennessee State along with Coastal Carolina, Furman, Louisville, Missouri, NC State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, UNCW, VCU, Villanova, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
East Tennessee State is the defending tournament champion and Louisville's Simon Zach is the reigning medalist.
Each round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. with teams going off from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
Head coach Andrew Sapp will field the team of Blake Taylor, Patrick Stephenson, A.J. Beechler, Tim Bunten and Stephen Carroll with Jimbo Stanley competing as an individual.
Taylor, the American Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Month for September, carded a 13-under-par 203 to claim third-place at the event last season. Beechler fired a total score of par-216, while Stephenson finished at 1-over-par, Bunten at 4-over and Carroll at 18-over.
The Pirates finished in eighth-place at 8-under-par 856.
