SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Junior Kathryn Carson and senior Dorthea Forbrigd both posted a 6-over par 222 finishing tied for 19th at the 2019 Cardinal Cup. The three-day, 54-hole event was being played at the par 72, 6,261-yard UofL Golf Club.

The Pirates posted rounds of 312, 297 and 297 for an 11th place finish (out of 17 teams) closing out the fall portion of their schedule with a 31-21 record. Tournament host and 42nd-rank Louisville won the team title after finishing 4-over par with a score of 868, which was followed by No. 20 Kentucky (876, 12-over), Campbell (877/13-over), Washington (882/18-over) and Kansas (886/22-over) rounding out the Top 5.

Carson (74-74-74) posted her second Top 20 of the season (11th career) and stood among the tournament leaders in par 4 scoring (t10th/even) and total pars (t22nd/35). Forbrigd (78-72-72) claimed her 23rd career Top 20 finish where she posted 36 pars (t15th).

Rounding out the Pirates roster were senior Siranon Shoomee (80-74-77=231/55th), freshman Caroline Hermes (81-77-75=233/t61) and senior Grace Yatawara (80-78-76=234/t67).

The Pirates will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 when they participate in the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
