ECU Opens Spring Schedule At UCF Challenge

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2020 spring portion of its schedule Sunday, Feb. 2 participating in the UCF Challenge. The three-day event is being held at the par-72, 6,349-yard Eagle Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

The Pirates, who completed the fall with a 31-21 record and are ranked No. 71 by Golfstat, will be joined in the 16-team field by (58) College of Charleston, (14) Illinois, (40) Iowa State, (62) Kennesaw State, (3) Kent State, (39) Miami (Fla.), (13) Michigan State, (69) NC State, (61) Old Dominium, (15) Oklahoma State, (79) Penn State, (70) Purdue, (64) Sacramento State, (36) UCF and (108) UNCW.

ECU Head Coach CC Buford will use a line-up consisting of seniors Dorthea Forbrigd and Siranon Shoomee, junior Kathryn Carson and freshmen Caroline Hermes and Oda Kilsti.

The 54-hole tournament begins with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday and will be followed with 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday. Pirate fans can get updated scoring on www.Golfstat.com.
