ORLANDO, Fla. ā Senior Dorthea Forbrigd (75-70-67) shot a 4-under par score of 212 at the UCF Challenge leading the East Carolina women's golf team to a 10th place finish. The three-day, 54-hole event was being held at the par 72, 6,349-yard Eagle Golf Club.

The Pirates (37-30) opened their spring schedule posting a 12-over par 876 (298-295-283) finishing ahead of No. 14 Illinois and No. 69 NC State. ECU's third round score of 283 (5-under) was tied for the sixth-lowest round of the day and it is also tied for the 11th-lowest in program history. Third-ranked Kent State claimed the team title with a score of 843 (21-under), while No. 12 Michigan State (849, 15-under) and No. 29 Miami, Fla. (850. 14-under) finished second and third respectively.

Forbrigd, who recorded he 13th career Top 10 placement, finished ahead of 11 Top 100 golfers after posting a 4-under par 212 (75-70-67). Her final round of 67 consisted of six birdies, one bogey and 11 pars. She finished among the tournament leaders in four statistical categories including total birdies (t5th/12), par-5 scoring (t6th/4.67), par-3 scoring (t16th/3.00) and par-4 scoring (t21st/4.00).

Junior Kathryn Carson shot a 5-over par 221 (77-74-70) claiming a share of 48th. She finished tied for sixth in total pars (40) and tied for seventh in par-3 scoring (2.92). Rounding out the Pirates roster were freshmen Caroline Hermes (79-74-73) and Oda Sofie Kilsti (74-77-75) along with senior Siranon Shoomee (72-87-73) all finished tied for 66th with scores of 226 (10-over par).

ECU will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 9 when it participates in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club.
