Pirates Set To Participate In Lady Puerto Rico Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Following a 10th place finish at the UCF Challenge, the East Carolina women's golf team returns to action Sunday, Feb. 9 participating in the 18th Annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The three-day event is being held at the par-72, 6,164-yard Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The Pirates, who own a 37-30 record and are ranked No. 71 by Golfstat, will be joined in the 15-team field by (15) Oklahoma State, (21) Kentucky, (22) Virginia Tech, (26) Texas Tech, (38) Georgia, (40) Iowa State, (45) Maryland, (47) TCU, (52) Augusta, (55) Indiana, (56) Northwestern, (69) NC State, (70) Purdue and (87) Nebraska.

ECU Head Coach CC Buford will use the same lineup she did at the UCF Challenge which consists of seniors Dorthea Forbrigd and Siranon Shoomee, junior Kathryn Carson and freshmen Caroline Hermes and Oda Sofie Kilsti.

The 54-hole tournament begins at 7 a.m. (ET) on Sunday with 18 holes, followed by rounds on Monday (7 a.m.) and Tuesday (6:30 a.m.). Pirate fans can get updated scoring online at www.Golfstat.com.
