
ECU Set To Play In Princess Anne Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team returns to action this weekend participating in the Princess Anne Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va. on Oct. 4-6 at the par-70, 5,816-yard Princess Anne Country Club.

The Pirates (21-1), who are coming off their fourth-straight win at the Pirate Collegiate Classic, are joined in the 15-team field by Campbell, College of Charleston, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, LSU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota, Old Dominion (host), Sacramento State, UCF, USF, UTSA and Virginia Tech.

First-year head coach CC Buford will use a line-up consisting of senior Dorthea Forbrigd, freshman Carolina Hermes, senior Siranon Shoomee, senior Grace Yatawara and junior Kathryn Carson.

In their last event, the Pirates (876) finished 14 shots ahead of UAB posting the fourth-lowest team score in program history. Forbrigd repeated as the individual champion posting a new tournament-low score of 210 (6-under) for her third career win. Hermes registered her first career Top 5 finish after posting a 4-over par 220 for sole possession of fourth place, while Shoomee (t11th), Yatawara (t15th) and Carson (t19th) all posted Top 20 finishes.

The three-day, 54-hole event will begin Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. (EDT) with 18 holes being played each day. Pirate fans can catch all the live action by logging onto www.Golfstat.com.
