
Pirates Head To Virginia For NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina cross country program will participate in the NCAA Southeast Regional Friday, Nov. 15, at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va. The meet determines which teams and individuals will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

The women's 6K race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with the men's 10K to follow at approximately 11:30. FloTrack will provide a live stream of the event.

The Pirates are coming off of the American Athletic Conference Championships where both the men and women finished in sixth place. Junior Josh Spare was recognized as an all-conference performer after taking 13th place with an 8K time of 24:30.69.

In addition to Spare, Ethan Hageman and Dean Abushouk ended up 28th and 29th with respective times of 25:20.18 and 25:21.92 while Chase Osborne was close behind in 33rd place at 25:37.43.

For the women, Nuria Tillo-Prats was the top ECU performer as she turned in a 22nd-place finish with a time of 21:33.19. Abby Yourkavitch ended up in 34th place, running a 21:56.43 while Jenna Strange was 41st with a time of 22:09.75.

Last year, the men claimed 16th place while the women were 18th in a 33-team field.
