CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The East Carolina cross country program wrapped up its 2019 season Friday morning with participation in the NCAA Southeast Regional at Panorama Farms.

The men took 18th place with 483 points while the women ended up in 19th with a point total of 530. Virginia and Virginia Tech finished as the top two teams in the men's event to earn automatic qualification to the NCAA Cross Country Championships while NC State and Furman did the same in the women's race.

Junior Josh Spare followed up his recent all-conference performance at the American Athletic Conference Championships with a 50th-place result at the regional, clocking a 10K time of 31:15.5. Sophomore Ethan Hageman also landed in the top 100, finishing 80th in a time of 31:54.6. Senior Dean Abushouk was 106th with a time of 32:17.4.

Senior Nuria Tillo-Prats was the top finisher on the women's side, running a 6K time of 21:35.3 for a 61st-place finish. Freshman Jenna Strange fell just outside the top 100, crossing the finish line in 22:15.9 for 103rd place. Senior Mikayla Stoudt was right behind her, turning in a time of 22:18.4 to claim 108th.
