
ECU Heads South To Play In Lady Puerto Rico Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Following a 10th place finish at the UCF Challenge where the ECU women's golf team picked up wins against three Top 50 programs, the Pirates return to action Sunday, Feb. 10 participating in the 17th Annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The three-day event is being held at the par-72, 6,164-yard Rio Mar Country Club in Palmer, Puerto Rio.

The Pirates, who own a 31-15 record and are ranked No. 67 by Golfstat, will be joined in the 14-team field by (7) Arkansas, (10) Kent State, (15) Northwestern, (21) TCU, (29) Purdue, (41) Georgia, (45) NC State, (47) Augusta, (48) Maryland, (54) Iowa State, (59) Virginia Tech, (64) Indiana and (103) Nebraska.

ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisting of senior Carley Cox and Kate Law, juniors Dorthea Forbrigd and Siranon Shoomee, and sophomore Kathryn Corson.

The 54-hole tournament begins with a 8 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday with the Pirates teeing off on holes eight through 10. Eighteen holes will be played Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and Pirate fans can get updated scoring on www.Golfstat.com.
