GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Pirates wrap up a three-week homestand Wednesday, welcoming Big South Conference foe Campbell to Greenville for a doubleheader at the ECU Softball Stadium.

In an attempt to avoid frigid temperatures, game one of the twinbill has been moved to a 1 p.m. start with game two beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.

ECU (10-5) split four games at the Purple-Gold Invitational last weekend, defeating Columbia twice before falling in consecutive contests to Massachusetts and Winthrop.

The Pirates are batting .320 as a team with seven players hitting at least .308. Ashleigh Inae paces the offensive efforts with a .452 batting average while Tyler King, who owns an 11-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in all 15 games this season, checks in at .415. Inae boasts a team-best 16 runs scored and King leads the squad in hits (22) and stolen bases (eight). Erin Poepping leads the pitching staff with a 7-3 record, 1.58 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 57.2 innings.

Campbell holds a 5-13 overall record entering Wednesday's doubleheader. The Camels dropped three of four games at the NC State Invitational last weekend, losing to Ohio and NC State (twice) while defeating Kansas. Campbell is hitting .261 as a team with Megan Mozingo leading the way with a .370 batting average, 20 hits, three doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI. Megan Richards paces the pitching staff, having compiled a 3-5 record with a 5.18 earned run average and 35 strikeouts against 21 walks in a team-high 57.1 innings of work. Collectively, the unit owns a 6.89 ERA with 74 strikeouts and 49 walks. Opposing hitters are batting .318 against the Camels.
