
ECU Set To Play In 2019 American Championship

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's golf team will look to solidify its position for postseason play this weekend when it participates in the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships, which starts Sunday, April 16. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club in Palm Coast, Fla.

Play on the 6,276-yard, par-72 Conservatory Course begins at 7:30 a.m. (ET) on Sunday with 18 holes each of the three day. An awards presentation will take place following the final round on Tuesday. Admission to the event is free and open to the public and live scoring can be found through www.GolfStat.com.

The Pirates (64-61), who are ranked No. 55 in the latest Golfstat rankings, are one of five teams competing in the championships that are ranked among the Top 65 nationally and are joined by Houston (No. 34), UCF (No. 51), SMU (No. 61) and Memphis (No. 65).

ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisting of Dorthea Forbrigd (senior), Carley Cox (senior), Kathryn Carson (sophomore), Grace Yatawara (junior) and Kate Law (senior).

The event features all 10 American teams that sponsor women's golf. The 10 institutions that sponsor the sport are (in seeding order) Houston, UCF, ECU, SMU, Memphis, USF, Tulsa, Tulane, Wichita State and Cincinnati.
