
ECU Student-Athletes Eligible To Participate In Commencement Ceremonies

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Seventy-one ECU student-athletes are eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies this weekend.
The 2019 ECU Spring Commencement Ceremony will be Friday, May 3, 2019 and starting at 7:00 p.m. at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Departmental ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th.
The keynote speaker will be actress and ECU alumna Emily Proctor. She earned her bachelor's degree in communication from ECU in 1991. Proctor spent two seasons as Ainsley Hayes on "The West Wing" and 10 seasons as Detective Calleigh Duquesne on "CSI: Miami."
During the spring commencement ceremony, the university will award 4,074 undergraduate and 1,081 graduate degrees, including 131 doctoral degrees. The university will also award 50 dental and 72 medical degrees.
Eleven members of the track and field program are eligible to participate in this weekend's activities as are 10 members of the cross country team. The baseball team has nine student-athletes set to become ECU alumni, while football and swimming program have seven each. Men's and women's basketball will produce five graduates each with softball supplying four new alumna, while women's golf, men's tennis and soccer generated three graduates. Women's tennis and volleyball each have two student-athletes eligible to partake in commencement ceremonies.
