GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's swimming and diving team hosted and completed a tri-meet sweep Saturday inside the Minges Natatorium for its first wins of the 2021-22 season. The Pirates defeated Barton (208-82) and Chowan (213-61) on their way to claiming 12 individual titles and a pair of team relay events.
Â
"Our girls did great Saturday, head coach Matt Jabs said. "To get a couple team wins under our belt feels good with such a young group. I am very appreciative of the crowd today; the atmosphere made the meet all that more exciting. Our swimming and diving family along with our fans are hands down the best.
Â
"I am also pppreciative of Barton and Chowan, as well as the divers from UNCW and Richmond for coming to Minges for the meet. Coach Woodhull-Smith has a championship level team and he's a proven championship level coach, Coach Ripley is building his program and I expect them to be a strong team very soon."

In three events this season, transfers Reynera and Rukosuev from Alabama, have combined for 14 individual wins – seven each, while Reynera capped off a perfect weekend winning all five of her events.
