
Pirates Continue Season At OTC Collegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina continues the fall season Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 27-28, as it competes at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational in Winston-Salem. The 54-hole event, hosted by Wake Forest, will take at the Old Town Club, a par 70, 6,966-yard venue.

Play begins both days at 7:30 a.m., with first and second round action on Monday and third round action on Tuesday. The Pirates will play alongside Penn State and UNCG on Monday.

Joining the Pirates are host Demon Deacons will be College of Charleston, Davidson, Duke, Kansas State, Kentucky, Loyola (Md.), Penn State Rutgers, SMU, Southern Miss and UNCG.

Head coach Kevin Williams will field the lineup of fifth-year senior Stephen Carroll, senior A.J. Beechler, sophomore Jake Calamaro, senior Attie Giles and junior Chris Sperrazza.

Carroll appears in the No. 1 spot for the first time this season, while Beechler and Calamaro will compete as starters for the first time. Sperrazza is part of the five-man lineup for the first time after competing in the season-opening Rod Myers Invitational as an individual, while Giles is making his season debut.

The Pirates were part of the field at the Battle at Briar's Creek earlier this week, but the event was suspended on Monday due to inclement weather before being canceled the following day.
