
Launch of East Carolina Letterwinners Club

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- With a focus on access and recognition for former varsity letterwinners, ECU Athletics and the Pirate Club launched the East Carolina Letterwinners Club on Thursday.

The East Carolina Letterwinners Club was created to better connect Pirate Letterwinners to former teammates, coaches, current student-athletes and the University community. Members of the East Carolina Letterwinners Club will have the opportunity to preserve the friendships and loyalties enjoyed by those who proudly represented the Purple & Gold, participate in invitation-only events, receive discounted tickets and have a direct link to ECU Athletics.

"We are excited about the East Carolina Letterwinners Club and how it will impact all our former varsity letterwinners," ECU Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert said. "These individuals created a legacy and played a major role in what makes being a Pirate unique and special."

Individuals joining the East Carolina Letterwinners Club for $100 annually will receive the following:

- Discounted Tickets to all Athletics events
- Complimentary admission to Hall of Fame/Letterwinners Weekend Tailgate
- Sport-specific reunion invite
- Invitations and special access to ECU's athletic events
- Social and Networking Opportunities
- Stay up to date with ECU Athletics news and events
Membership in the East Carolina Letterwinners Club is separate from a Pirate Club membership. The 2021 Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Nov. 5 with the Letterwinner's Tailgate taking place prior to the Nov. 6 football game vs. Temple. In addition, all letterwinners will receive on-field recognition on Nov. 6. Information will be provided to all letterwinners.Â

"While today is the official launch of the East Carolina Letterwinners Club, we are continuing to look for ways to engage our letterwinners, provide access to our athletic events and explore different hospitality options at our home football games. We will all work together to facilitate reunions for all our varsity programs where letterwinners can reconnect with former teammates and coaches and message our letterwinners about the importance of giving back to the Pirate Club."
