ORLANDO, Fla. – Having picked up consecutive American Athletic Conference road victories for the first time since the 2015-16 season, East Carolina looks to make it three in a row when it battles UCF Sunday afternoon at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. and the contest will stream live via ESPN+.

ECU knocked off South Florida 65-57 Thursday night inside the Yuengling Center for its second win in the last three games.

Vance Jackson led four ECU players in double figures offensively, scoring 16 points to go along with four rebounds. Tristen Newton, Brandon Suggs and Tremont Robinson-White added 14, 13 and 10 respectively while Newton set a career high with 10 assists for his first double-double of the season and second of his career.

The Pirates finished the evening at 45 percent (20 of 44) from the floor and limited South Florida to 34-percent (21 of 61) efficiency. ECU also outrebounded the Bulls 37-29 and outscored South Florida 26-20 in the paint while hitting 20 of 24 (83 percent) from the free throw line.

East Carolina and UCF met earlier this season in Greenville (Jan. 18). The Knights erased a 20-point second-half deficit and eventually prevailed 92-85 in overtime. Newton led all players with 27 points while Alanzo Frink, R.J. Felton and Brandon Johnson also reached double figures with 16, 14 and 10 respectively. Darius Perry and Brandon Mahan each dropped in 19 to pace UCF. Perry added eight assists and four steals to his final ledger.

The Competition
UCF (15-9, 7-7 AAC) faced off with No. 14 Houston on the road Thursday and came away with a 70-52 loss. Darius Johnson and Dre Fuller Jr. each scored 12 points in the setback.

The UCF Series
UCF leads the series with East Carolina 27-9 and has won the last 13 meetings. The Pirates have not defeated the Knights since March 12, 2015, at the American Athletic Conference Tournament in Hartford - an 81-80 overtime decision.

South Florida Leftovers
The Pirates improved to 7-8 against South Florida since both teams joined the American Athletic Conference ... East Carolina held a team under 60 points for the second time this season ... ECU used the starting lineup of Newton, Felton, Robinson-White, Jackson and Debaut for the second-straight game ... The Pirates outrebounded an opponent for the 14th time this campaign ... Newton has scored in double figures in all but two games this season ... Newton's 10 assists push his career total to 313. He is the eighth player in program history to reach 300.
