
Nominate For '22 ECU Hall Of Fame Class

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina University Athletic Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the Class of 2022. The deadline for nominations is June 1.
The class will be formally announced in August and enshrined as part of our Hall of Fame Weekend on October 14 during a ceremony in Minges Coliseum. They will also be recognized at halftime of the Pirates' contest against Memphis the following day.

The East Carolina University Athletic Hall of Fame was established to pay tribute and give the highest recognition to former athletics letterwinners, coaches, administration and others who have made exceptional contributions to the athletics program at ECU.
The 2022 Class will be the 44th group enshrined into the ECU Hall of Fame that currently includes 178 individuals. For a full list of members, visit https://ecupirates.com/honors/ecu-athletics-hall-of-fame.

All 178 inductees are currently honored with their pictures and accomplishments on an interactive wall in the Walter and Marie Williams Athletic Hall of Fame Gallery in the Smith-Williams Center.

Criteria for Eligibility of Nominees:
1. The candidate should not have represented East Carolina University as a student-athlete for a minimum period of ten (10) years immediately preceding the date of induction or be deceased. The ten (10) year period can be reduced to a period of not less than five (5) years by a unanimous vote of the committee (as amended May 31, 1990).
2. The candidate must not be a full-time member of the East Carolina University faculty or staff, in the category for which the inductee is being honored, at the time of election and induction (as amended May 31, 1990).
3. The candidate must have attended East Carolina University at least two (2) academic years, held a responsible staff position or have been an exemplary supporter of East Carolina University athletics for at least five (5) academic years and must have been in good standing at the termination of such relationship with the University.
4. The candidate's athletic achievements and contribution to sports while at East Carolina University or as an alumnus/alumna must have been widely recognized over the area served by the University, enhancing the reputation of the University as well as themselves (individually).
5. The candidate must be of good character and reputation and not have been a source of embarrassment to the University.
6. The candidate must have left the University as a graduate, or in good academic standing and with the good graces of East Carolina University officials.
7. All candidates shall be considered without discrimination based on race, color, creed, genetic information, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, political affiliation, or veterans' status.
8. A nomination will be eligible for consideration up to three (3) consecutive voting years. At the conclusion of three (3) consecutive years the nomination would be discontinued. Once a three (3) year time period for consideration has ended, the individual can be re-nominated for another three (3) year period. There is no limit to how many times an individual can be nominated.
