Pirates Open 2022 at Elon

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina cross country program will kick off its 2022 season on Friday at the Elon Opener hosted by the Elon University Phoenix.

The meet will be the first for the Pirates under new head coach Billy Caldwell. Caldwell's bunch will look to improve upon the fifth and six-place American Athletic Conference finishes for the ECU women and men a year ago.

The women's squad will toe the line first at 8:15 p.m. for a four-kilometer race around the looping 1K course. The men will follow by racing the six-kilometer distance with an 8:45 p.m. start time.

The Pirates will be in competition with Duke, Campbell and UNCW among others on the men's and women's side.
