GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina soccer team is set to host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Johnson Stadium. The game is free to attend for fans and will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and Emily Gray on the call.

Last Time Out
The Pirates were felled by a SportsCenter Top 10 strike by Memphis forward Anna Hauer in a 1-0 loss on Thursday. The home team had their chances before a crowd of 768 fans in Johnson Stadium with both Catherine Holbrook and Jazmin Ferguson having good looks at goal late in the contest against the No. 9 team in the nation.

Scouting the Golden Hurricane
Tulsa had looked like a team starting to find their footing with seven-game unbeaten streak, including a win over Rice and draws with SMU and North Texas, but the Golden Hurricane took a beating last time out in a 3-0 loss at Charlotte. Overall, the team sits at 3-7-4 on the season after opening 2023 with six-straight losses. Offensively, the team is led in scoring by Jordan Frederick and Kaylyn Simmons with three goals apiece while Tatum Sanders still holds the fort in goal with four shutouts on the season.

Series History
The Pirates and Golden Hurricane have met 17 times over the years with a 9-5-3 margin for ECU. The last two matchups have ended in draws however, with a 0-0 result coming last season in Johnson Stadium. Maeve English was called upon for only one save on the day to Tatum Sanders' three for Tulsa as neither team was able to muster a dangerous offense.
