GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men's basketball team is back in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum and will "Paint It Purple" on Thursday evening when the Pirates welcome in-state foe UNC Wilmington to town. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and will be on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson and Si Seymour on the call.

The first 1,000 students in attendance will get a free purple "shirsey" t-shirt and all Pirate international student-athletes will be recognized at halftime.

ECU currently has four players that are averaging double figures in scoring, led by AAC Preseason Second Team selection RJ Felton (18.1 ppg). Brandon Johnson is averaging 14.8 ppg and 7.6 rpg and Ezra Ausar (13.9 ppg) and Quentin Diboundje (11.4 ppg) round out ECU's top scorers.

Last Time Out
The Pirates are coming off a 22-point defeat at the hands of George Mason on Saturday afternoon. Brandon Johnson and Quentin Diboundje each led the team with 13 points and Ezra Ausar added 10 points on a frigid shooting day for the Pirates. The team shot a season-low 35 percent from the floor and allowed George Mason to shoot nearly 60 percent from the floor in both halves.

Scouting the Seahawks
UNC Wilmington is coming off a 71-55 win over Florida Gulf Coast led by Trazarien White's 22 points. Shykeim Phillips and Maleeck Harden-Hayes added 15 and 14 points respectively. UNCW also has four players currently averaging double figures in scoring as White leads the team with 18.8 ppg, followed by Phillips (13 ppg), Harden-Hayes (12.7 ppg) and KJ Jenkins (10.7 ppg). The Seahawks are second nationally in three-point percentage at 43.5 percent.

Series History
The Seahawks lead the all-time series with the Pirates 38-30 with UNCW taking last year's matchup at Trask Coliseum, 74-61, behind White's 18 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams have alternated wins in their last seven meetings and ECU has won the last three meetings in Greenville.

On This Date
ECU is 8-9 in games played on Nov. 30 since the 1960-61 season with the last game on this date coming during the 2021-22 season, a 63-62 win over Old Dominion at Minges. The Pirates have played UNC Wilmington twice on this date as well, winning both contests including a 93-88 overtime win in 2017.
