
Pirates Set for NCAA Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina cross country team will conclude their 2023 campaign on Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by USC Upstate.

The meet gets underway at 11 a.m. for the women's 6K race before the men toe the line to take on 10K for the first time this season at 12 p.m.

On the men's side, the Pirates will be in competition with a tremendous field including nationally ranked No. 5 North Carolina, No. 14 Furman, No. 28 Eastern Kentucky and No. 29 Wake Forest. The women's field features USTFCCCA-ranked squads: No. 2 N.C. State, No. 10 Virginia and No. 25 Furman.

Last Time Out
The Pirates hosted the 2023 American Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Overton's Lake Kristi. The women finished seventh on the day with the men taking ninth.

Alyssa Zack led the way for the women's squad with her strong 25th-place finish. Hayley Whoolery (34th) and Jessica Neal (38th) were next in the lineup while Navaya Zales (59th) and Lily Schlossberg (77th) rounded out the scoring.

On the men's side, Colin McCauley led the way in 49th with Alex Sawyer (54th) and Ted Sielatycki (55th) following close behind. Conner O'Shea (60th) and Cooper Kleckner (61st) rounded out the scoring.
