BLACKSBURG, Va. –  Virginia Tech emerged victorious over East Carolina Sunday afternoon by a 4-0 margin at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Â

Semra Aksu and Tamara Barad Itzhaki got things going for the Hokies in doubles with a 6-0 win over Laura Becker and Anne Lou Champion before VT clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory by Katie Andreini and Dariya Radulova over Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain.

Charlotte Cartledge extended the Virginia Tech lead to 2-0 with a straight-set win over Joan Madi. Radulova and Aksu closed out the match with another pair of triumphs on courts one and four. The teams did not play out the rest of the matchups, but Champion made her season singles debut at the No. 5 position. Bachir also won the first set of her bout with Barad Itzhaki.
