GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina returns home for its first conference series at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium this season when the Pirates welcome the UCF Knights to town starting on Friday evening with first pitch slated for 5 p.m. The Pirates and Knights will continue the three-game series on Saturday at 5 p.m. and the teams will conclude the series on Sunday at noon.Â

ECU is coming off an 8-4 road midweek road win on Wednesday against North Carolina that saw the Pirates tally eight hits and hold Carolina's offense in check. Taylor Edwards (4-for-4 AB) and Anna Sawyer (first career HR) highlighted the strong offensive evening for the Pirates and Addy Bullis pitched a full seven innings and tossed five strikeouts for her 13th win of the season.

Edwards leads the Pirates at the plate, batting .398 (4th in AAC), is second in the AAC with five triples (t-5th in NCAA) this season and has notched nine games with multiple hits to lead the Pirates.  Fellow outfielder Taudrea Sinnie leads the league in stolen bases with 14 and has been successful on every stolen base attempt. Logan Sutton leads the team in home runs with four and Bullis holds a 13-4 mark in the circle with a 1.62 ERA and 75 strikeouts and leads the AAC in innings pitched with 103.2 (27th in NCAA).

Scouting the Knights
UCF is coming off a 3-2 walkoff victory at home against North Florida on Wednesday night. Prior to defeating North Florida, the Knights' previous seven contests were against ranked opponents in No. 22 Arizona State, No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 22 Wichita State in which UCF went 2-5. The Knights are second in the AAC in home runs with 28, led by Jada Cody's five and have five batters who hold a batting average of .300 or better. Sarah Willis leads UCF in the circle with a 2.52 ERA and 65 strikeouts. Since 2006, UCF holds a 31-20 advantage over ECU and the Pirates have dropped the last 14 games against the Knights.
