DURHAM, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team finishes up its five-game road swing on Wednesday evening when the Pirates visit Durham for a midweek doubleheader with No. 11 Duke inside Duke Softball Stadium.

The first game will start at 4 p.m. and first pitch for the second game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Both contests will be streamed via ACC Network Extra with Dean Linke and Raine Wilson on the call for the first game and Tiffany Greene and Kayla Braud stated to call the second game.

The Pirates are coming off a 1-2 weekend at Houston in which ECU's offense surged to life tallying 21 runs, batting .310 as a team and almost equaling its previous season total in home runs (8) with seven. The Pirates are 0-2 against ranked opponents this season, falling to then-No. 11 Virginia Tech at the beginning of the campaign.

Taylor Edwards leads the Pirates at the plate, batting .402 (5th in AAC), is second in the AAC with five triples (t-9th in NCAA) this season and has recorded multiple hits in 10 games to lead the Pirates. Fellow outfielder Taudrea Sinnie is second in the American in stolen bases with 17 and has been successful on every stolen base attempt. Logan Sutton leads the team in home runs with six and Addy Bullis holds a 13-8 mark in the circle with a 2.62 ERA and 82 strikeouts and is second in the AAC in innings pitched with 122.2 (27th in NCAA).

Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke has won five of its last six games after defeating Elon 4-0 on Monday. The Blue Devils feature a potent offense with seven players batting at least .300 or better, led by D'Auna Jennings' .410 average (6th in ACC) and team-high 43 hits. Ana Gold leads the club in home runs with 14 (1st in ACC, 10th in NCAA) and with 43 RBI (1st in ACC, t-5th in NCAA). Cassidy Curd has been Duke's top arm in the circle with a 1.56 ERA (4th in ACC) and 83 strikeouts for a spotless 9-0 record.
