GREENVILLE, N.C. – No. 12 East Carolina looks to get back in the win column Tuesday evening when it heads over to Raleigh for the conclusion of its home-and-home season series with NC State. First pitch from Doak Field at Dail Park is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The contest will air live on ESPNU with Matt Schick and Kyle Peterson handling the broadcast duties. Scooter Rogers and Dr. Gary Overton will have the radio call on 94.3 The Game.

The Pirates (29-11) downed the Wolfpack by a 13-9 score in Greenville back on April 4 to spark a nine-game unbeaten streak that ended over the weekend in Wichita as the Shockers captured all three encounters with ECU at Eck Stadium. Despite the setbacks, East Carolina still ranks among the national leaders in several pitching categories, including strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.22/Sixth), WHIP (1.24/7th), walks allowed per nine innings (3.24/14th) and earned run average (3.85/16th).

Justin Wilcoxen paces ECU offensively with a .336 batting average while Jacob Jenkins-Cowart is hitting .321 with 11 doubles and eight home runs having recently returned to the lineup following a six-game absence due to injury. East Carolina's pitching unit has racked up 406 strikeouts and 126 walks in 350.1 frames.

The Pirates are 5-8 in true road games this season, including a 6-2 win at Charlotte last Wednesday.

NC State (25-14) suffered the same fate as ECU last weekend, dropping all three games of an Atlantic Coast Conference series to Clemson at home. The Wolfpack is hitting .303 collectively led by LuJames Groover's .351 batting average, 54 hits and 34 RBI. The NC State pitching staff owns a 4.26 earned run average with 365 strikeouts and 125 walks in 344.1 innings.

The NC State Series
NC State leads the series with East Carolina 70-42 and has won four of the last six meetings. The Pirates have not defeated the Wolfpack in Raleigh since April 1, 2009, when ECU collected a 14-4 victory. East Carolina has only played a home-and-home set with NC State three times since 2016 (2022/2023).

Yesavage Tabbed To Midseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List
Sophomore RHP Trey Yesavage is one of 45 players nationally to earn a spot on the midseason Golden Spikes Award watch list. He is the sixth Pirate in program history to be named to the midseason list following Jeff Hoffman (2013), Evan Kruczynski (2016), Chris Holba (2018), Jake Agnos (2019) and Connor Norby (2021). ECU has had four players named to the preseason watch list in Kyle Roller (2010), Jeff Hoffman (2014), Bryant Packard (2019) and Alec Burleson (2020), while Corey Kemp is the lone Pirate to be named a semifinalist in 2008.
