
ECU To Play In Rod Myers Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men's golf team returns to action Sunday, Sept. 24 when it plays in the Rod Myers Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Duke and will be played at the par-72, 7,154-yard Duke University Golf Club.

East Carolina and host Duke will be joined in the field by Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, NC State, Louisville, Loyola (Md.), Penn State, Princeton, UNC Greensboro, UNCW and Virginia Tech. Opening round action begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m., while Monday's final round will start 8 am.

The Pirates, who finished in second in their first event of the year at the River Run Collegiate, will use a roster that consists of junior Carter Busse (No. 1), sophomore Philp Linberg Bondestad (No. 2), freshman Drew O'Neal (No. 3), sophomore Lucas Augustsson (No. 4) and freshman Nathan O'Neal (No. 5).

Busse earned the top spot on the heels of qualifying and winning his first collegiate event last week where he shot a 10-under par 200 recording the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Bonestad finished tied for 22nd (215), while Drew O'Neal (216) claimed a share of 25th and Nathan O'Neal (221) tied for 44th.
