
Bachir And Rivera Nab Wins At ITA Carolina Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – East Carolina's Ines Bachir and Isabella Rivera Ortiz both collected singles wins at the ITA Carolina Regional held at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center over the weekend in Chapel Hill.

Bachir began in the main draw, defeating Ava Krug of Duke University 6-4, 2-6 and 6-3 before falling to NC State's Mia Slama 5-7, 4-6 in the round of 32. Ortiz started off into the qualifying draw but fell into the consolation bracket after a first-round setback to Western Carolina's Madison Schwarz. She would bounce back with a 4-6, 6-2 (10-8) victory over Hana ElSherif from North Carolina A&T to end the weekend.

Bachir and Xenia Jeromin also took part in the doubles main draw, losing an 8-6 decision to Alexandra Dodashev Enbert and Olivia Gallagher of UNC Greensboro.
