
Bachir And Jermoin Set To Compete At American Athletic Conference Individual Championships

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina senior Ines Bachir and freshman Xenia Jeromin have been selected to participate in the American Athletic Conference Individual Tennis Championships which begin Thursday, Oct. 24, at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice University.

The American Individual Championships will be conducted for the first time in 2024 as the conference determines men's and women's champions in singles and doubles. The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Athletic Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championships Nov. 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.

Two singles players and one doubles tandem from each of the American Athletic Conference's 11 men's teams and 13 women's teams will compete for the individual titles.

Bachir owns a team-best four singles wins during the fall campaign, most recently advancing to the round of 32 in the main draw at the ITA Carolina Regional last weekend. Jeromin picked up a pair of victories in three prior events as she competes in her first season in the Purple and Gold.

As a doubles team, Bachir and Jeromin have enjoyed a successful season with a 6-1 record entering this weekend's championships.

First-round play in singles and doubles begins Thursday, Oct. 24, while the round of 16 in singles concludes Thursday afternoon. The quarterfinals in singles and doubles will be played Friday, Oct. 25, followed by Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's championship finals.

Consolation brackets in men's and women's singles will also be played, allowing each student-athlete the opportunity to play at least two matches.
