Pirates Wrap Up Regular Season with Successful Outing at Darius Dixon Memorial
February 10, 2024 | Track & Field
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The East Carolina track & field experienced another successful weekend at Liberty's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Pirates saw two more athletes ink their names in the program's top-10 list and multiple more PRs.
Â
Terence Booth, Jr. was the highlight of day one as the redshirt-junior dismantled his PR in the 60m hurdles by 0.12 seconds, running a time of 7.91 seconds which vaulted him from seventh to second in ECU history. Booth would lower his time even further in Saturday's final, finishing third with a time of 7.89 seconds, still second all time.
Â
Colin McCauley also had a phenomenal opening day, becoming the ninth ECU runner to ever go under 15 minutes in the indoor 5,000m. His time of 14:58.96 placed him at eighth in program history.
Â
Also on Friday, Jaelyn Green and Blake Moody, both freshmen, ran their way to first and second in the open 400m with times of 48.86 and 49.00 seconds, respectively.
Â
Naadiya Faison, aside from Booth's hurdles, had perhaps the best result on Saturday, finishing third in the shot put with a throw of 15.35m, not far off of her season best.

"Overall, across-the-board we had another pretty good weekend," said Director of Track & Field Curt Kraft. "We definitely made some improvements on the conference list. Now we have two weeks to rest up and get healthy for the indoor championships. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us over the next two weeks, and we can get some great practices in."
