ECU Completes Day One Of AAC Championships

Day 1 Results

DALLAS, Texas – The East Carolina women's swimming and diving team completed day one of the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championships earning 61 points and currently six in sixth place. The four-day event, which will run from Feb. 22 through Feb. 25, will be hosted by SMU at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr McMillion Natatorium.

In the 1-meter dive, sophomore Frida Zungia Guzman placed fifth with a score of 259.15 earning 14 points, while freshman Jecza Lopez finished eighth (246.50) for 11 points in the A-final. Fellow freshman Olivia Templeton claimed third in the B-final (11th overall) posting a score of 243.30 earning six points.

ECU finished third in the 200-yard medley relay took home 30 points. The group of Brynna Wolfe (graduate student), Kaylee Hamilton (junior), Laura Kellberg (junior) and Mikayla Durkin (freshman) posted a time of 1:40.68.
